this twizzle sequence is still to this day part of what I picture when I think of the prefect ice dance program (yes, MR is perfect). They (VM) came out and it was like, this is the meaning, the definition of ice dance. (I remember seeing the Shibs, but no one else really left an impression on me). I remember I was watching the SD event live and saw several teams before VM. So I don’t know whether it was purely VM, or the fact that I was really watching ice dance for the first time but inevitably the impressions those programs left on me was ‘this is what ice dance IS’. Ok so I feel like my answer to this is kinda biased on the circumstances surrounding it but without going and watching literally every twizzle sequence ever to pick a new favourite I’m still gonna say it’s this one:īoth of VM’s 2018 olys programs was my first real experience with watching ice dance with the understanding that it is different than pairs and singles (elements, structure, choreography etc). the fact that she never wore it in comp is a crime MUSICALITY TESSA VIRTUE UPGRADEthe 2008 nats practice dress for dark eyes is gorgeous and a massive upgrade over the actual od dress.tessa had five farrucas dresses, including two that only showed up in practice.the most dresses she had in any given season was 13, for 2009-2010.tessa wore 73 dresses for their competitive programs, over 11 competitive seasons.if i missed anything please let me know!.basically i only went for their competitive history as listed on wikipedia ^ same goes for exhibitions and ice show programs.i’m not very familliar with vm’s junior/novice career so i haven’t tried to hunt down pictures.i included some dresses she only wore in practice because they’re just too pretty.create a ‘new temporary filter view’ to filter by segment, program, competition, or season. MUSICALITY TESSA VIRTUE FULLVirtue and Moir were coached by Igor Shpilband and Marina Zueva. So i conducted a full virtue/moir rewatch this week, and i present to you:Įvery (competitive, senior) tessa virtue dress, the spreadsheet While most of their programs have been soft and romantic, Virtue and Moir have also done humorous programs in exhibition. They often look as if they were dancing, not skating. Virtue and Moir are known for their artistry, musicality, and grace on the ice. This made them immediately seeded skaters going into the 2007/2008 season. Their debut at the World Championships was the highest debut by any team in over two decades when they placed 6th. In their first full season skating at the senior level, Virtue and Moir won the silver medal (second place) at the Skate Canada International and again at Nationals. In that year, they also won the bronze medal at the Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, a senior-level competition for skaters who are from countries that are not in Europe. They won Canada's first gold medal in ice dancing at the World Junior Figure Skating Championships in 2006. Virtue and Moir were the most successful junior-level Canadian ice dancers ever. They are now the most decorated figure skaters in Olympic history. They went on to win two silver medals in 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and two gold medals in 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. In the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, the duo won the gold medal in the ice dancing competition which was not only a first for them, but also for the country of Canada. Virtue and Moir have been skating together since 2008. Tessa Virtue is an ice dancer from Canada.
